Catching the Star

Hey you guys. I just wanted to let you know a little information that I have gotten today from Duncan my area representatives for Open Door International involved in placing the students of the CBYX-Program. He told me a little information that I thought it was cool. And I wish to share it with you guys. When I get more information I'll tell you more all about it. I'll be living in a town called: Freiburg, Germany. It's South West Germany not far from the Swiss and French borders.

The host father is a heart surgeon and will be helping them to find me an internships in the medical field. Bad Krozingen has a heat centre and rehabilitation centre for orthopaedic patients. His wife also worked in the medical field, but is now a housewife. They have two charming daughters who are into music (one plays the flute, the other a piano) and sports: tennis, skiing, horse riding, ice skating…

Since it's recommended I'll be going to spend my first few weeks in Bad Krozingen at a school before I start my internship. I will be having 3 host families. The one in Bonn, for the 7 weeks. Then on August 22nd which is a Saturday I'll be on a train and I'll arrive to Freiburg and then be picked up by my welcoming family I'll stay with for 3 weeks. And they'll be going to France for a week and are welling to take me with them. Unfortunatly this family feels that me being mild lactose intolerant isn't worth it and I have to find a new host family. As my long-term host family will be on their planned cruise the same day I'm coming. On September 12th I'll be going to stay with my long-term host family.

Of course I wont be the only one going. There will be 4 other students in the area. I only know 21 people going. There are 9 girls and 13 boys going. We've all got to know each other a little bit through email thanks to Sue for getting us in contact. And 8 of us have found each other on facebook and made a group.
